APPROVED INITIATIVES

The Ontario Trillium Foundation and Carleton University

In 2005, CEDTAP approved 45 initiatives. These initiatives involved, diverse communities and groups across Canada. These projects focused on a range of activities, including feasibility studies, business and strategic planning, marketing, evaluation, and training; with the overall objective of strengthening capacity while achieving their desired results.

Also in 2005, we were pleased to announce a new partnership with The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). OTF announced one of its largest grants ever, a total of $624,900 to three non-profit organizations: CEDTAP, the Ontario Co-operative Association (On Co-op), and the Ontario Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet-Ontario). This unique collaborative will support the three organizations in addressing the energy, health and social integration challenges that Ontarians face, and promoting corporate engagement with CED.

CEDTAP welcomes the OTF along with its other national funders -- The JW McConnell Family Foundation, Bell Canada and Carleton University -- whose combined support will enable it to continue to assist community based organizations with their innovative and inspiring initiatives in 2007.

In 2006, CEDTAP looks forward to receiving new applications from CED organizations. Initiatives will be selected based on their ability to demonstrate: innovation, sustainability, ability to be replicated and, most importantly, community impact.
