Badminton Club Play System

  • The Carleton University Badminton Club (CUBC) relies on a tag system to arrange games every 15 minutes. Each member is assigned a tag upon registration.
  • Each tag has the member name, gender, and skill level.
  • Games are arranged by an executive.
  • When the member's tag is placed on a court, the member has been chosen to play.
  • All tags that are not on a court represent the players sitting off for that rotation.

21 Rally Point Scoring System

  • At the beginning of the game, the server serves from the right-side of the court.
  • If the serving side wins a rally, the serving side scores a point and the same server serves again from the alternate service court.
  • If the receiving side wins a rally, the receiving side scores a point. The receiving side becomes the new serving side.
  • When the score is even, the server serves from the right court. When it is odd, the server serves from the left court.
  • The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving.
