casual dinner in the Byward Market
We will lead a walk up the Rideau Canal, a World Heritage Site, from Carleton University to the Byward Market, where there are many restaurants. Reservations are generally unnecessary on a Thursday. If we end up being a large group, we may have to split up. The Market is also the main nightlife and culture hub of Ottawa and is accessible to many of Ottawa-Gatineau's principal tourist and arts attractions, such as Parliament Hill, the National Gallery of Canada, the National Arts Centre, and the Museum of Civilization.
Meet in front of Frontenac House at 17:00.
If you wish to join the group for dinner, but would prefer to take transportation to the Market, then meet us at 18:30 at the corner of George St. and William St., in front of the Aulde Dubliner. Map
