Training for School Presentations
Important Tips
  • Make short, simple and specific statements. Look relaxed and confident. Use humour. Have concrete examples or demonstrations. Use visual aids. Make the presentation energetic.
  • Speak clearly and loudly.

Possible Presentation Topics
  • Factors that led to your decision to enter into your field of study. Qualities required to experience success in your career choice. Rewards and frustrations that you have encountered to date. Preparation and schooling required to become qualified in your career choice. Role of mathematics/science in your career choice. Job opportunities in your field. Starting salary in your career choice. Thing you like best/least about your selected field of study. Advice you can offer to young women considering the pursuit of a career in a non-traditional area.
  • Many girls and women are very good at science and mathematics but need more self-confidence and self-appreciation.
