What is ICWES

It is an International Conference held approximately every three years at a different location around the world and consists of a series of presentations and posters on technical topics and on issues of concern to women engineers and scientists. The bid for the conference was presented at the last ICWES (11) in Japan in July 1999 and received a unanimous vote of support from the assembly. This will mark the first time in the 40 year history of ICWES that the conference will be hosted in Canada.

The conference will take place from July 27-31, 2002 at the Ottawa Congress Centre.

Objectives of ICWES12

The main goal is to bring women and men scientists and engineers from all over the world together to share and discuss their technical expertise and experiences in these disciplines. The conference will also bring important issues such as the environment and the impact of technology on women and society to the attention of all participants and to the public. The organizers will also ensure that everyone experiences the warmth and diversity of Canadian hospitality and culture.

Sponsorship Opportunities

In order to achieve the objectives, the ICWES12 organizing committee needs your support. A business plan for the event has been completed. It is expected that half of the expenses will be covered by revenue generated from conference fees and the other half will come from our fundraising initiative.

Your support will be acknowledged in a number of ways commensurate with the level of sponsorship provided. The following levels were designed to maximize partnering potential.

Platinum ($20,000 or more)

Benefits

• Company name and logo will be listed on the conference web site as soon as the donation is made
• Company name and logo will appear in very visible ways during the conference such as the banquet menu, program and proceedings
• Company logo will appear on the conference banner
• Company will be mentioned in all press releases, media information and other promotional opportunities
• Company will receive four complementary tickets to the closing banquet

Gold ($15,000 to 19,999)

You can sponsor the banquet or a reception, or contribute to the general budget. Recognition will be provided as above, save for the banquet menu.

• Company name and logo will be listed on the conference web site as soon as the donation is made as well as the banquet menu, program and proceedings
• Company logo will appear on the conference banner
• Company will be mentioned in all press releases, media information and other promotional opportunities
• Company will receive two complementary tickets to the closing banquet

Silver ($10,000 to 14,999)

Recognition will be mentioned in the program and proceedings, on the web site, and listed verbally at the banquet.

Bronze($5,000 to 9,999)

Recognition will be done on the web site and in the program and proceedings.

We would be happy to provide more information if required
You can sponsor a coffee break and be profiled at that event ($1500).
Any other contribution will be appreciated and mentioned on the web site and in the final program.
