Modern Legal Theory
Realist and post-realist legal scholarship; emphasis on Canadian, American and British approaches. Topics include the Canadian treatise tradition, American legal realism, empirical approaches to legal problems, the sociological movement in law, critical and Canadian feminist legal scholarship, Marxian theories of law, normative economic theory.Prerequisites: 2.0 credits from LAWS 2003 [1.0] (no longer offered), LAWS 2004 [1.0] (no longer offered), LAWS 2005 [1.0] (no longer offered), LAWS 2105, LAWS 2201, LAWS 2202, LAWS 2301, LAWS 2302, LAWS 2501, LAWS 2502.
