Politics, Sovereignty and Identity in Russia and the Soviet Successor States
Comparative statebuilding and social change in the successor states of former Soviet Union. The contentious processes of political institution-building, the emergence of new social identities, and the importance of ethnicity in the current politics of the region.Prerequisite: third-year standing.
Lectures three hours a week.
