Autonomous Dynamical Systems (Honours)
Basic concepts of dynamical systems. Stability; limit cycles; Lyapunov's direct method. Theory of autonomous dynamical systems. Volterra systems; principle of competitive exclusion in population biology. The threshold theorem of epidemiology. Basic concepts of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics.Prerequisites: MATH 2000; and MATH 2454 or MATH 2600.
Lectures three hours a week and one hour tutorial.
