Law and Aboriginal Peoples
The legal situation of aboriginal peoples in Canada. Topics include status, aboriginal rights, treaties, legislative jurisdiction and the constitutional framework, aboriginal claims, and self-government. Comparative references to aboriginal policy in other countries.Prerequisite: LAWS 2005 [1.0] (no longer offered) or LAWS 2501 or LAWS 2502 or LAWS 3500 or LAWS 3503 or LAWS 3503 [1.0] (no longer offered) or LAWS 3509.
Lectures three hours a week.
