Indigenous Representation in Contemporary Canada
Through the examination of Indigenous cultural productions in select cultural forms (literature, film, television, visual arts, music, performance), this course examines how contemporary Canadian Indigenous artists and cultural producers negotiate the complex and contradictory relationships between Indigenous and Euro-Canadian traditions of performance, representation and storytelling.Prerequisite: third-year standing or permission of the School of Canadian Studies. Seminar three hours a week.
