The Cultural History of Early Modern Europe
The cultural and intellectual history of Europe from the Renaissance to the French Revolution (1450-1790). Themes include humanism, the visual arts, religion, the Scientific Revolution, and the history of political thought. (Field a)Precludes additional credit for HIST 2203 (no longer offered).
Lectures three hours a week.
