Numerical Linear Algebra
Study of matrix inversion techniques; techniques of finding eigenvalues and eigenvectors, solution of systems of linear equations; direct and indirect methods, their comparison and error analysis; applications in optimization and other areas. (Also listed as MATH 4806.)Prerequisites: MATH 1102 or MATH 2107; and MATH 2000 or MATH 3009, or permission of the School.
Lectures three hours a week.
