Introduction to Structural Analysis
Concepts and assumptions for structural analysis: framed structures; joints; supports; compatibility and equilibrium; stability and determinacy; generalized forces and displacements. Principle of Virtual Work: unknown force calculations; influence lines. Complementary Virtual Work: displacement calculations, indeterminate analysis. Introduction to the Stiffness Method of Analysis.Prerequisite: CIVE 2200 and MATH 1004.
Lectures three hours a week, problem analysis three hours alternate weeks.
