Advanced Topics in Physical Chemistry I
Principles of Group Theory as applied to Chemistry. Point groups, character tables, symmetry orbitals, molecular orbitals, aromaticity, allowed and forbidden reactions, sandwich complexes. Selection rules in spectroscopy, molecular vibrations.Prerequisites: CHEM 3102 or PHYS 3602.
Lectures three hours a week.
