Introduction to Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies
Survey of topics in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies: historical linguistics, psycholinguistics, first and second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, discourse, written language and literacy, language teaching and learning.Precludes additional credit for LALS 1000 and LALS 1002 (no longer offered).
Lectures three hours a week.
