In 1988, women represented 12.3% of undergraduate students enroled in accredited engineering programs. In 1998, this number increased to 19.5% and in the same year 20.7% of the graduating classes were women. Also in 1998, enrolment of women students in Masters degrees was 22.7% and enrolment in Doctoral degrees was 15.4%. The national average of women faculty members in 1998 was 7.7%.
