Frédéric Charillon is a Professor of Political Science at the Université d'Auvergne, Sciences Po and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. He is also the Director of the Institute for Strategic Research, Ecole Militaire, Paris. Charillon's research focuses on the international affairs of France and the European Union, the evolution of the practice of international relations and defence, and the "new" international system. He is the author or co-author of 16 books, most recently France in 2010, co-authored with P-A. Graciano and P. Liquière. In addition, Professor Charillon has contributed chapters to numerous books and published in European Political Science, European Journal of International Affairs, Politique Étrangère, and Défense Nationale et Securité Collective, among others.
