Islam and Gender
Introduction to ideas about gender in Muslim societies past and present. Topics include: gender in the Qur'an, the Hadith and Islamic law, sexualities, social change, and current debates on gender and sexuality in Muslim communities.Prerequisite: RELI 2310 or WGST 2803 Section "A" or permission of the department.
Lecture three hours a week.
