Philosophy of Language
An intensive introduction to philosophy of language. Topics may include meaning, reference and truth, speech acts, the nature of concepts, language learning, metaphor, compositionality, context-sensitivity.Prerequisite: a course in philosophy or second-year standing.
Lectures three hours a week.
