Animals in Human History
Examines the role that animals have played in human history. Topics may include domestication; the display of animals in zoos, museums and wildlife films; biotechnology; industrial farming; animal welfare movements; animals as symbols, and the question of animal agency. (Field c or e)Precludes additional credit for HIST 3308 (no longer offered).
Lectures three hours a week.
