Contemporary Culture in Everyday Life
Consideration of the role of contemporary cultural forms in everyday life. Focus is on the culture/power relationship with special attention to the ways that popular forms such as television, film, music, and tourism facilitate or work against the cultural and economic interests of different societal groups.Prerequisite: normally restricted to students entering the first year of a B.A. program.
Seminars three hours a week.
