Writing and Knowledge-Making in the Disciplines
The role of writing in constructing knowledge in academic disciplines, as viewed from contemporary socio-cultural perspectives. Consideration of how the goals, values, and assumptions of different disciplines shape their writing in distinctive ways and what implications this holds for pedagogy. (Also listed as ALDS 4403).Precludes additional credit for LALS 5406 or ALDS 5602 or LALS 5602.
Prerequisite: fourth-year standing or permission of the instructor.
Lectures three hours a week.
