Organic Polymer Chemistry
Introduction to basic principles of polymer chemistry, industrial and synthetic polymers, different types of polymerization and polymer characterization. Study of commodity plastics, engineering thermoplastics, and specialty polymers, with emphasis on their synthesis. Also offered at the graduate level, with additional or different requirements, as CHEM 5406, for which additional credit is precluded.Prerequisites: CHEM 3201 or equivalent. Lectures three hours a week.
