Studies in Population

Introduction to demographic techniques. Problems in the collection and analysis of population data, such as population censuses and vital registration. Emphasis on the application of “demographic” methods (e.g. cohort analysis) to other areas of sociological investigation.
Precludes additional credit for SOCI 3501.
Prerequisite: SOCI 2003.
Lecture three hours a week.
