Lie Algebras
Basic concepts: ideals, homomorphisms, nilpotent, solvable, semi-simple. Representations, universal enveloping algebra. Semi-simple Lie algebras: structure theory, classification, and representation theory.Prerequisites: MATH 5107 (MAT 5141) and MATH 5109 (MAT 5142) or permission of the School.
