Evolutionary Computation and Artificial Life
Study of algorithms based upon biological theories of evolution, applications to machine learning and optimization problems. Possible topics: Genetic Algorithms, Classifier Systems, and Genetic Programming. Recent work in the fields of Artificial Life (swarm intelligence, distributed agents, behavior-based AI) and of connectionism.Prerequisites: COMP 3007 or the equivalent.
Precludes: COMP 4107 or the equivalent.
