Graduate Courses* * Film Studies 19.528T2 Canadian Cinema Through a close analysis of films from both cultures, this course should establish the distinctly Canadian modes our cinema has developed. Special attention will be paid to the similarities and differences between English Canada and Quebec, relating them both to the economic and political realities of our country, and to the variety of thematic orderings of Canadian culture that can be found in the work of writers like Northrop Frye and Margaret Atwood. Also offered at the undergraduate level, with different requirements, as 19.328, for which additional credit is precluded.
