Technology Innovation Management (TIM) is a unique Master's
program for innovative engineers that focuses on
creating wealth at the
early stages of company or opportunity life cycles. It is
offered by Carleton University's Department of Systems and
Computer Engineering. The
program provides benefits to aspiring entrepreneurs, engineers
seeking more senior leadership roles in their companies, and
engineers building credentials and expertise for their next
career move. More ...
The program specializes on research in the
synthesis between engineering technology and management of
engineering processes. Close links are maintained with the
engineering and technology communities. Students do research of
current theoretical and practical significance. The research
results provide useful contributions to the management of
engineering processes in technology based industries.
The TIM program offers both an M.A.Sc. and an M.Eng. degree.
The M.A.Sc. is a thesis based degree; the M.Eng. degree is
project based. The TIM was formerly called Telecommunications
Technology Management (TTM). The program started in the mid 90s
and has been very successful.
A distinctive feature of the TIM program is that all courses
are delivered to in-class and remote students. Remote students
can interact with professors and fellow students using the BigBlueButton web
conferencing system. This system is also available to students
outside class time to collaborate on their assignments and
projects. Courses are scheduled, moreover, to minimize
disruption to your work.
