How to apply to the program

To apply to the TIM program, you first submit an online application account request form. Note: you need IE 8 (earlier versions will not work) or Firefox to access the website.

Once your account has been created, the steps for the full application are as follows:

1. Fill out the online portion of the application (instructions are your confirmation email). That gets you in the queue. Also see the FAQ provided by graduate studies on payment of the application fee.
2. Request your transcripts from your university (if you have an official copy, you can submit a notarized copy of your transcripts). You can ask your university to send the transcripts directly to us.
3. Request two letters of reference. Preferably, both should be work references, except if you have graduated recently -- then, one should be from your university. You can have your letters sent directly to us, or request that they be sent to you in a sealed envelope.
4. Evidence of competence in English (e.g. TOEFL, CAEL, or 2 or more years of work experience in an English-speaking country), if English is not your first language.
5. Write a statement of work (more accurately: interest) that highlights why you should be considered for the program and why you are interested in the TIM program.
6. Provide a CV that details your work experience.
7. Submit all documents (except the ones sent directly) with a signed copy of the application form.

The TIM program offers both an M.A.Sc. and an M.Eng. degree. The M.A.Sc. is thesis-based, and the M.Eng. project-based. There is a separate application process for each option. See thesis or project - a choice for more details on the difference between these options. Start your application here:
