In/Words will continue to produce individual and collaborative chapbooks, as well as our series of Scattered Poems, which will be printed and placed on buses, grocery stores, elevators, and under windshield wipers throughout the city of Ottawa. If you have an idea for a chapbook or project, or have a poem you'd like for us to scatter around Ottawa, contact us.

Guidelines

If you are interested in having your work published either on this website and/or in an In/Words publication, you've come to the right place. We accept the following types of work:
  • Poetry - up to 200 lines in length.
  • Prose - fiction and non-fiction (essays, travel literature, reviews, etc.) up to 2000 words in length.
  • Visual Art - photography, drawings, paintings, etc. Colour/black and white submissions welcome.

In/Words produces a very special magazine, Blank Page, comprised entirely of work from first-year university students.

In/Words retains the rights to republish all submissions in its associated publications. In/Words will never forward submissions to outside publishers without the consent of the author/artist. Contributors are free to publish submissions elsewhere, and In/Words welcomes material that has seen publication elsewhere. However, In/Words is not responsible for any lack of adherance to other publishers' guidelines on the part of its contributors.
