In Kinship with the Moon
JM Francheteau

Twin solitary satellites
Waltzing through the nocturne
Phasing in, phasing out
Drowsily dancing without tune
We show ourselves elliptically
Sliver here, sliver there
'Til we're full for all to see
And the tide rushes forth
Over levies, over hearts
And we brace ourselves for cruel dawn
To wait again for times well wasted
In contemplation, in kinship
With the moon
