CanFishPass: Inventory of Canadian Fish Passage Facilities

Project Leaders: Steven Cooke, Karen Smokorowksi, Keith Clarke and Chris Katopodis

CanFishPass is an electronic inventory of fish passage facilities in Canada. The inventory includes information on the engineering and hydraulic specifications of the fishways as well as biological information related to the species affected by the structures. Until completion of a web searchable database, database queries for CanFishPass may be sent to the project administrators (Charles Hatry and Caleb Hasler) at canfishpass@gmail.com where we will generate reports and return desired information. For example, we can easily search by species, fishway type, region, etc.  If you have information regarding a fishway in your area that you would like included in the database please contact us via e-mail.

If you have questions regarding general information on the project, they can be sent to Dr. Steven Cooke at : steven_cooke@carleton.ca

Funding for this project was provided by Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Center of Expertise on Hydropower Impacts on Fish and Fish Habitat.
