Funding Opportunities

Faculty Research and Travel Support

The Centre for Security and Defence Studies has limited funds available to support Associates' individual and collaborative research projects, as well as innovative teaching and outreach activities related to security and defence issues. Requests for support should be made to the Director of CSDS.

For research or conference travel support, please submit a request to the Director, according to the following guidelines:

Student Research and Travel Support

The Centre also has funds available to support graduate student research activities. Students should contact the Director of CSDS with a budget and a full proposal that describes the research project and elaborates on the specific research tasks to be performed.

Students seeking conference travel support, should apply through the SDF Conference Fund program. Detailed Guidelines are below.

SDF Conference Funds

CSDS has limited funds available through the Security and Defence Forum (SDF) at DND to support graduate student, post-doc and junior faculty participation at both Canadian and international academic conferences. For more detailed information on the SDF conference funds, see the documents below.
